What Are Polls and How Do I Use Them?

What Are Polls?

Polls are a premium feature that allows you to directly interact with your app users by asking them questions and getting feedback from them. A poll is sent out to your app users as a push notification. The poll itself consists of a question and either a text response field, or up to four possible responses that you have determined.

When users receive a poll, they can open it up from their lock screen (if they have opted in to push notifications), or from the app’s message center.

Polls are a great way to promote engagement with your app. You could ask fun questions, like "What food do you think best represents [your destination]”. Another idea is to solicit feedback about your app’s user experience.

When a user responds to a poll by selecting one of the provided answers, they will be able to see a current tally of what other people have responded to the poll. Users will be able to see the total number of respondents, and the percentage that each answer was selected.

The user’s responses to quick polls are anonymous. It is not possible to track what individual users responded, or to identify which users responded and which did not.

If you are interested in adding quick polls to your app, please contact your VisitApps Client Success Manager by submitting a ticket via the client portal.

How Do I Create a Poll?

Creating a Quick Poll

  2. Question: This is where you place your poll’s question. Make sure you phrase the question in an appropriate way, so that it makes sense for the multiple choice answers you provide. Keep in mind that the answers for quick polls are single-select.

  3. Answers: You can provide up to four options for your users to select as their answer to the poll question. Try to keep the answers concise and clear. The answers are single-select, so make sure the options are clear. This will help users identify which answer they agree with the most.
