Simpleview DAM New Feature Release: March 30, 2021

UI Updates to Download Requests and Access Groups 

The Download Requests and Access Groups pages have a new look and great new features! These pages can be accessed by Admin users and can be accessed using the left navigation bar.

Note:

Depending on the setup of your DAM platform and your specific level of user permissions, you may not have access to these pages and/or all of the options outlined below.

Download Requests

The Download Requests page is where admin users can approve or deny requests from users. This page can be accessed from the side navigation bar under Account Settings > Download Requests > Review Requests

Updates made to the User Download Requests page include:

Approve and Decline Requests via Icon

Assets approvals and declines can be easily made by selecting the thumbs-up icon to approve requests and the thumbs-down icon to decline requests

Bulk Approve and Decline Pending Requests

Assets requests can now be made in bulk! Select the assets to approve or decline by using the checkbox column found to the left of the individual assets. Once the desired checkboxes are selected, Approve and Decline options will appear on the top row. Select the desired action and once complete, the asset(s) will be removed from the pending list.

Reason Request Drawer

You can now easily view a user’s reason for requesting to download an asset. To do this, select the text icon by an asset and a drawer containing the user’s reason will open.

Search Download Requests

Using the Keyword and Status dropdowns at the top of the page, you can now search for a specific asset or filter requests by their status of Authorized, Pending, or Declined. 

Customize your View with Table Settings

You can customize your view to fit your workflow by selecting the ‘Columns’ option located in the top row. Once selected, the Table Settings drawer will open where you can customize which columns are visible in your view and in which order they appear.

Save Your View for Easy Access

Similar to other updates pages in our DAM UI, you can save a view or views using the ‘Save As’ option in the upper right corner. Organize the view as you see fit and then save the view so you can quickly access it when you need it.  

Access Groups

Access Groups allow users to organize both assets and users into groups within your Simpleview DAM. This feature is used to designate access to files for groups of users. This page can be accessed from the side navigation bar under Review > Access Groups

Updates made to the Access Group page include:

Create and Access Group

New Access groups can easily be created by selecting the ‘Add Access Group’ button at the top of the screen. 

Search Access Groups

Access Groups can easily be found using the ‘Keyword’ or ‘More’ dropdowns found at the top of the screen. The ‘More’ option allows you to filter the list of Access Groups by Is Admin, Is Active, Is Locked, and Is Default.

Bulk Activate and Deactivate Access Groups

Assets Groups can now be managed in bulk! Select which groups you’d like to activate or deactivate using the checkbox option next to the individual Access Group. Once selected, Activate and Deactivate options will appear on the top row. Select the desired action and once complete, the toggle and Yes/No in the Active column will update.

Active/Inactive & Locked/Unlocked Toggle and Column

The Access Groups page now features a toggle which represents whether a group is active or inactive and locked or unlocked. It also displays the status of a group by looking for Yes/No in the Active and Locked columns.

  • If the group is active and unlocked, the toggle will be blue slid to the right 
  • If the group is active and locked, the toggle will be gray and slid to the right
  • If the group is inactive and unlocked, the toggle will be blue and slid to the left
  • If the group inactive and locked, it will be gray and slid to the left

Note:

This view will vary depending on your level of user permissions.

Edit an Access Group

Access Groups can easily be accessed for editing using the pencil icon.

FAQs Are On The Move! 

Our previous DAM FAQ page within the system has been removed, and instead the left-hand navigation FAQ tab will link to the shiny and new Simpleview DAM Knowledgebase. Our DAM Knowledgebase has a new look and is maintained by our very own Product Education team. This is your ultimate DAM resource base and is a one-stop-shop for Simplefeed articles, documentation, and best practices which can be used by you and your team to learn more about our DAM and to ensure you’re getting the most out of your platform

Contact Us Form Updates

The ‘Contact Us’ form, which has been available within the transitional UI, is now available within the legacy UI, in addition to all login pages and the public collections page. In these additional pages, the Contact Us link will appear in the footer. 

Note:

The exact positioning within the footer may be different from platform-to-platform depending on specific client customizations. In some cases of customizations, no Contact Us link will be shown.

Resolved Issues

  • An issue where the footer could appear in the wrong place when using Saved Views has been resolved.
